Can a person have a parasite without having diarrhea? if so, which ones and are they tested via stool?

Stool testing rec: If you are worried about parasites, it's reasonable to consider stool testing. The problem is, stool tests usually need to be performed on fresh samples, which are notoriously hard to collect and deliver in time for them to be useful. Get a collection jar from your doctor. I hope you get your testing done soon.

Yes: Many INTESTINAL PARASITES can be asymptomatic with no diarrhea or other symptoms but can be diagnosed from stool specimens: Giardia, Cryptosporidia, tapeworms, Ascariasis, pinworm and whipworm, Cyclosporia, Dientamoeba. TISSUE PARASITES are often asymptomatic and can't be diagnosed by stool specimens: Strongyloidiasis, Schistosomiasis, Filariasis, Trichinella,Toxocara.
