I had 2 chest x rays done 2 different times with portable mechine i seen the image but did not see the ribs just lungs is that possible.

The ribs: Should always be seen on a properly performed chest X-ray, but portable chest X-rays are notorious for having less than optimal technique,so if the X-ray energy is too high("over penetration"), they may be "burned out" on the image and difficult to visualize.
