It could be either: It could be residual HCG from the miscarriage or a new pregnancy. The best way to find out is to have your MD retest the blood HCG value in a few days to see if the value is rising or falling. If rising, a new pregnancy, a "miscarriage" that wasn't completed, or an ectopic pregnancy.
