What kind of blood tests other than cultures for recurring low grade fevers? was told to have a lot of blood work done with next fever, but wasn't told what besides cultures. just wondering what kinds of tests to expect. thanks!

Other causes: Low-grade fever can be culture-negative endocarditis, TB, familial mediterranean fever, malaria, some medication, Hodgkin's / non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, rheumatoid arthritis, and a few others. The workup needs to go beyond culturing stuff, which isn't likely to be productive if things are originally negative. Remember that typhoid and brucella cultures often are false-negatives.
