Family pract: Having what we call palpitations which are heavy pounding or irregular heart beats that are not normally felt. Hyperthyroidism can cause or aggravate symptoms. Check with your dr he will order lab studies , an echocardiogram , and possibly a 24 hr holter monitor to determine if these feelings need to be treated.
