A member asked:

Can mild metabolic alkalosis lead to ventricular arrhythmia in patients with pre existing arrhythmias and various cardiac conditions?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Metabolic alterations such as acidosis or alkalosis have been known to affect both ekg morphology and cardiac rhythm. Therefore changes in serum electrolytes and blood ph could increase the incidence of both atrial and ventricular dysrhythmias.
