Neck pain: Common causes of neck pain such as muscle strain, vertebral problems,inflammatIon of thyroid,lymph glands,or carotid artery are usually aggravated by motion and have associated tenderness. Shingles(herpes zoster) may start as an ache for several days before the rash erupts. If symptoms persist or rash develops, get examined by your physician.
