I went to the doctor and he had to check my throat but my tongue was in the way. what is this called and is there anything i can do for it?

NOT REALLY: I assume this was a gag reflex and some just have more of it than others. If the doc really had to see your throat, s/he could use a spray to numb it first, but that is unpleasant enough that not indicated unless the exam itself is really important.
