I just got an ear wick put in today. my ear has been sore all day but after i applied the medicine t was significantly more painful. is this normal?

Swimmer's ear: When the ear wick absorbs the antibiotic solution, it expands to fill the outer ear canal so that the medicine reaches the infected areas. It is compressing the painful, swollen sides of the ear canal. If the pain continues to increase even with a change in ear wick, seek help immediately in case of resistant, worsened infection, especially if diabetic.
