The same as original: A relapse means that one's condition deteriorates after a temporary period of improvement. Usually, for an infectious disease like salmonella, this means that the selected antibiotic was not effective (the organism wasn't sensitive to it) or the patient didn't take the antibiotics correctly. So in a salmonella relapse, one would again experience diarrhea, abdominal pain, ? fever
