Not going to meet...: Fallopian tube removal (salpingectomy) will definitely prevent any sperm to meet an ovulated egg, which timely disintegrates inside pelvic cavity and reabsorbed into the body, just like the fate for sperms after vasectomy.

No tube=infertile: In short, if The fallopian tubes are excised, than they are also obliterated in terms of their connection to the uterus. Since the sperm reaches the egg via the fallopian tube, there can be no fertilization
