See Your Doctor: Bedbugs are typically found in the crevices of furniture. The bites are painless but can cause allergic reactions with intense itching. Bites usually occur on exposed skin. It is unusual to find bites to the scalp. The sensation of crawling in hair is rare for bedbugs but very common for head lice. Nits (eggs) are tiny, easy to miss. Head lice are easily treated. See doctor for proper diagnosis.
