Yes and most of the : Time without surgery! 90% with sciatica due to a disc herniation get better without surgery independent of any specific treatment as time is the biggest healer. Treatment also can include: medication, injections, activity modification, physical therapy, acupuncture and chiropractic. For those that have indicated surgery, the success is 90-95% as long as one is not a smoker or morbidly obese.

Cure, Unlikely...: Sciatica can be managed effectively and can be relieved in a vast majority of people, but it will always require diligence on your part for nsaids, exercise, stretching and weight control/loss. For those still having issues it may require treatments (injections, surgery, etc) to maintain relief as well.
