Rash, itching, worse: Mepergan AKA meperidine is a narcotic analgesic used in surgical sedation. Allergic reactions can be mild with rashes and itching. They can also be severe and life threatening with respiratory compromise, difficulty breathing, throat swelling, and anaphylactic shock (collapse of blood pressure).
