Recurrent erosion: It is possible the there is a small area where the epithelium is not adhering well and sloughs off and causes pain and a foreign body sensation. It frequently happens upon awakening in the morning. Muro 128 ophthalmic ointment placed in the eye at bedtime can help. Have his md examine him for a definitive diagnosis.
