Confusing question: HSV 1 is most commonly associated with genital herpes and this can recur in the genitals at any time.Taking oral medicine to suppress the outbreaks is a common management tool. You don't list the age of the kid of the site of the original outbreak or why the meds were stopped. This prevents me from a more specific answer. Discuss this with the doc who started the meds.
