Peripheral vision: Loss of side vision is the same as loss of peripheral vision. In other words, central "eye chart" vision is normal but there is a loss of peripheral vision due to either a retinal problem or a neurological problem. Retinal detachment, hereditary dystrophies or stroke are some causes of loss of side vision.
