Intertrigo: Rashes (eruptions) in skin-fold areas are termed "intertrigo" and are caused by moisture, heat, and friction leading to inflammation. Infection (such as Candida yeast or other fungi) can also complicate the situation. Redness or erythema, and sometimes hyperpigmentation or darkening of the skin, is usually seen.
