Absolutely no motion: Locked joints by definition are stuck in a fixed position somewhere along the normal arc of motion from fully straight to fully bent. There are classic causes of locked joints, especially the knee. Injured cartilage (joint lining) or a torn piece of a meniscus can cause a knee to lock which can be painful and prevent normal function .
