A 52-year-old male asked about a 55-year-old female:
can a hep b treated patient be infectious?

Should not be: If the treatment was effective with documented clearance of virus from the bloodstream, then that person is no longer infectious. However, not all therapies result in a cure. Follow up with treating physician is important.

A 31-year-old male asked:
Is Hepa B non active carrier is infectious?

Dr. Yoshimasa Makinoanswered

Yes but less likely: Certainly, when someone enters that chronic non-active carrier state of Hepatitis B, they typically have no detectable HBeAg (e-antigen) and only low levels of HBV DNA. However, keep in mind that this means there is still some virus in the blood, and therefore a small but real risk of transmission still exists.
The Hepatitis B infection can quickly recur as well, especially if you take steroids

A 31-year-old female asked:
If someone with chronic hep b doesn't need to take medications what is the reason for this and is he still infectious?

Some hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections cause little or no ongoing liver damage, and therefore treatment isn't necessary. However, such persons are infectious. Their sex partners and others at potential risk (e.g. injection drug users who might be tempted to share injection equipment) must be vaccinated. Discuss with the doctor or clinic managing your HBV infection. Good luck.
