Neoplasm: A cancer that affects the heart muscle or valves would be considered a heart cancer. Most sources of cancer in the heart are a metastasis from another organ, but a few are primary from the heart. Cancer of the heart is very rare. Primary tumors of the heart can include myxoma, fibroelastoma, rhabdomyoma, lipoma, sarcoma, and others. Cardiac MRI can be helpful in assessment of cardiac tumors.
