Well, when a baby is born, typically the head comes out first and then the shoulders need to come out next. The width of the shoulders is wider than the head. Therefore, the shoulders have to roll in a bit but even then, sometimes one of the shoulders has difficulty passing down and that is "shoulder getting stuck during delivery". A few maneuvers by the doctor usually helps move it along.
