Depends on timing: The oral fluids HIV antibody test (Oraquick®) usually is positive within 6 weeks but sometimes 3 months to turn positive. If tested earlier, the negative result is reassuring but not conclusive. FYI, all other HIV tests (on blood, both rapid and lab-based) are conclusive by 4-8 weeks, depending on the specific test. These are preferred over Oraquick when concerned about recent exposures.
