Maybe, maybe not: All oral contraceptive pills contain small amounts of estrogen which can be absorbed by the uterine fibroids and sometimes enhance their enlargement. Some women with fibroids are unaffected by the use of oral contraceptive estrogen and the fibroids show no growth over time.
