Sex and UTI: Sex can trigger UTI, but not because of antibody or allergy to sperm. It happens because UTI causing bacteria are present in the vaginal opening and labia, and sex massages them into the urethra. Certain things can contribute, such as diaphragm for contraception. Usually UTI can be prevented by an antibiotic dose after sex or 3x/week. Discuss w/ your doc or see an infectious diseases specialist.
