Not syphilis: Syphilis symptoms (the sore called a chancre) never start sooner than about 10 days, and sore throat is not a symptom of syphilis. Probably you caught a cold, unrelated to the oral sex. However, other STDs are possible, especially gonorrhea. "Neg for strep" suggest you saw a doctor for testing. If you didn't have throat culture for gonorrhea, discuss with your doctor.
