Probably nothing.: Fluctuations in natural hormones or in how your body processes birth control can affect your cycles. If spotting recurs over & over, you should tell your gyno. If you have pelvic pain, fever or really heavy flow, you need to seek care promptly. Otherwise, no worries about the spotting. Keep in mind that The Pill doesn't protect against STD's and that you still need regular Gyn check ups.

Possibly normal: Light spotting is a normal thing between cycles, but if you see heavy bleeding or prolonged bleeding, see your Gyne and have it checked out. Estrogen-containing BCP's are more associated with what is called breakthrough bleeding, nothing to be alarmed about !
