Bacterial vaginosis: Your BV should be treated, probably with metronidazole. Until then, it would be best to avoid sex or to use condoms consistently. BV often persists or is harder to cure with continued sex. Also, you and your partner should be tested for STDs like gonorrhea and chlamydia, which are more common in people with BV.
