A cough: lasting five weeks needs evaluation and more likely than not a chest x ray!!!! This sounds viral and in particular it sounds like Community Acquired Pneumonia ("Walking Pneumonia") IT'S TIME TO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!! Hope this helps! Dr Z
