A member asked:

Seeing as sepsis is an overreaction by the immune system, are immune compromised individuals capable of getting sepsis?

Yes and more severe: Sepsis is more frequent and generally more dangerous in people with immune compromise. You are over-interpreting the science involved. It is true that some manifestations of sepsis result from immune system overreaction. But the main problem is unrestrained growth of bacteria, which is a problem in many kinds of immune deficiency.
