If Ur toe is-: -numb, it can't get worse. If it is only on 1 side, especially on the inner side, the side that faces the other great toe, it can very well B from foot wear. If it is of great concern make an appointment 2C Ur PCP.

Radiculopathy: Must know if this is a big toe or 2nd through 5th. If the great toe, toe has normal color, circulation, not swollen/blue/black, could be sensory nerve in the lumbar spine, L4 or L5. If toe dark colored, swollen, blue or worse black, could be arterial embolus. Consider neuropathic process like diabetes although other types also. Need to have MD examine your foot. No good diagnosis without exam.
