Bartholin gland cyst: Hi, the diagnosis will depend on exactly what part of the vagina is involved, the appearance of the bump itself, and whether there are any other abnormal findings. But a very common cause of a single bump on the side of the vagina (the labia minora) is a cyst/abscess of the bartholin gland. It should be carefully examined by a physician and can be easily drained. Usually no antibiotic needed.
