Why can i feel my epiglottis? feels like i need to keep swallowing like somethings stuck in my throat

Consider another cau: Highly unusual to sense epiglottis unless acutely inflamed or swollen which would also be painful. Sounds like globus, a foreign body sensation. Can be from acid reflux, post nasal drainage, large palatine or lingual tonsils, tightness of the upper esophageal sphincter, or functional. Consider trying antacids but if not better in 3-4 weeks or swallowing affected then see ent.

Esophageal pain can: Come from irritation of its lining from a "stuck" pill, gastro-esophageal reflux & a few rarer medical issues. "globusl pharyngeus, " a sensation that something is stuck when nothing's there, is related to anxiety & depression & may require a change in your meds. Gastroenterologists perform endoscopy (inspect the esophagus, stomach & duodenum using a small tube) to rule out medical causes.
