Ovarian cysts: A treatment option for ovarian cysts is to try birth control pills. The idea is to give the ovaries a break from producing hormones, a process that involves generating cysts, by giving the hormones in form of a pill by mouth. Sometimes starting bcp makes existing cysts go away, at other times it doesn't.
