Low risk, but....: If he has an STD, there could be slight risk to you. If this happens again, he should use a new condom, not flip the first one. However, your statement ("started having sex") implies this may be an ongoing relationship. Why don't you both go for STD testing? If both negative, perhaps you can dispense with the condoms entirely, assuming you're also on the pill or other reliable contraception.
