A member asked:

My left shoulder blade is numb its been like this for months i can move but when touched it seems to have very little feeling my other side is normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypesthesia: This patch of numbness is consistent with either damage to the actual superficial nerves in the skin of that area or caused by pressure on a nerve root by a bulging disc or spur at the spine. A brain lesion is not likely. A demyelinating disease like Multiple sclerosis is another possibility. A neurologist is best qualified to evaluate you and order appropriate tests.
