Be more humane :): If the alcoholic was abusive and violent then calling the police would be critical. However, if he was just drunk with a potential head injury, the natural thing to do would be to send him to the hospital by 911 or otherwise for medical attention and hopefully rehab. Coming to church could have been his way of seeking help. The pastor should have been more Christian and acted more humanely.
