How many days before ovulation should you have sex to concieve? do sperm live up to 3 days?

1-2: If you have sex starting 1-2 days before ovulation that is fine. Anything earlier is very unlikely to make a difference. Sperm have been reported to live up to 1 week but that is very unusual and 3 days is more likely.
