A member asked:

Can you diagnose whether someone has pid based on blood test, such as esr, crp, and ca125? do they always rise without exception when someone has pid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: There are no blood tests specific for PID. The diagnosis is base on lab test results, pelvic examination and may be imaging studies. It would be prudent to consult a gynecologist. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
