How long after a medical abortion at 8w 5d, does it take the fetus to pass and come out?

24 to 72 hours: Once the 2nd of the two abortion pills are taken, contractions with fetal passage should begin in 24 to 72 hours. If that does not occur and the 2nd pill was not swallowed, but held between the check and gum, then you need to see your abortion MD for another ultrasound examination to determine fetal passage or not and the next treatment step as needed.
