A member asked:

Can tmd cause the whole row of lower teeth on one side to be painful? if disc is dislocated, can it go back to normal on its own?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and Yes*: TMJ dysfunction can be the source of pain in teeth in the upper and lower jaw as well as other areas of the head and neck. A dislocated disc in the TMJ complex that is displaced can go back to its normal position. *Deformation of the disc and/ or damage to the ligaments holding the disc in position, and length of time the disc has been dislocated may factor in if the disc can return or not.
