Yes and Yes*: TMJ dysfunction can be the source of pain in teeth in the upper and lower jaw as well as other areas of the head and neck. A dislocated disc in the TMJ complex that is displaced can go back to its normal position. *Deformation of the disc and/ or damage to the ligaments holding the disc in position, and length of time the disc has been dislocated may factor in if the disc can return or not.
