Sore throat can be bacterial , viral or secondary to more sinister pathology like cancers and can also be a result of a referred pain from another part of the head and neck. Blood tests may be required to looks for viral infection.

Sore throat: depend so the cause. if the swabs are negative , get bloods done to looks or glandular fevers. Other causes may include viral, allergic , irritants, dryness. If it is persisting then se your GP to look for the causes.
