Maybe not: HA1C is the measure of glycosylation of your red blood cells and if you look at the American Diabetes Association website you can calculate one's eAg or average 24hr blood glucose over 120 days, which is how long red blood cells live. Activity and other variables confound your number. Exercise flux? HA1C biomarker or barometer and not sacro sanct as your blood glucometer log, diet, exercise.

Lab wrong: 51 F notes HbA1c was 5.3 1/16/16 July was 5.9 8 days later was 5.2 asks if it can change that much in8 days and way July wrong? All lab test can vary by 10% from day to day some more. Also vary by lab so if in same lab this is prob within normal variation. Considered to be an integrated average of BG over last 3 months. So ask your team who use this lab how much variation they see in same person

Lab Error/technique: Lab errors happen & are more common than people think, so it is very possible that the middle lab was an error. However, if you have anemia & had a transfusion or take meds to raise you RBC count, this could be real. Also, diff labs use diff techniques to measure the HbA1c & the technique used can be effected by abnormal hemoglobin or at times meds, so if diff labs used could be reason.
