For several weeks i have lower back pain, left side, right above buttocks. but only there (no pain in legs). and the pain comes & goes. sciatica?

Lumbar strain: due to overuse or injury of the muscles of the lower back. Sciatica is usually one sided sharp, knife-like pain radiating from the buttock straight down the front or back of one or both legs. I suggest an examination and imaging.
