I had an lp shunt placed 1 week ago. now have radiating paing on the left buttock down the back of my thigh that stops in the back of the knee. assuming this is sciatica from nerve impingement will it ever go away??

Symptoms are most likely secondary to the procedure, and should not last longer than 3-4 weeks at maximum. However, contact the physician who placed the shunt and describe your issues, as it would behoove you to have this examined ASAP.
