Lingering URI: A viral URI usually lasts less than 1 week. It's possible to get a second viral URI when recovering from the first (this happens to parents of school-aged children quite often) , however another explanation is possible. People who suffer from allergies can have continuous symptoms when exposed to allergens (such as seasonal allergies). If so, a trial of OTC antihistamines (eg, cetirizine) may help
