Sleep and body temp: Body temperature more commonly decreases towards bedtime and during sleep. However, during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep (when dreams are occurring), the brain’s temperature-regulating cells switch off and let your body temperature be determined by how warm or cool your bedroom is. Soaking in a warm tub prior to bedtime may help to avoid getting overheated at bedtime and during sleep.
