Below: At age 57 it will take 6+ weeks for the ribs to heal. If there is a sudden change in the pain or shortness of breath, then call your DR.

Rib fractures : Simple rib fractures are treated conservatively with pain management only. Certain rib fractures that result in breathing difficulties and / or relentless pain are treated surgically. I use titanium plates to repair the chest wall.
