See GI: Could be bleeding, melanotic spots. Melena occurs when one has black, tarry stools. Please visit a physician in Gastroenterology for a full workup. Moderate to severe Chron's Disease can be managed with medications and it is prudent to be followed by a specialist in GI always. Good luck to you.

Specs in stool: Hi, yes specs in the stool can be expected. This is usually some dried blood. Especially after flare. Close follow up with your doctor is vital. Regular blood checks are important as well. Your doctor likely started you on medication, close adherence is important. Please see your doctor for flares, black or bloody stools, loss of appetite, fevers, or persistent diarrhea. Hope that helps
