A member asked:

My partner did a urine test yesterday morning and a faint line came up. she tested this morning at half 4 and test was negative?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood test for HCG: If the person had unprotected sex with a man, since her last period, has missed a period now by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. Alternatively you could get a blood test for HCG, after missed period. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex.
